About Us

The Garden City Park Auxiliary has a rich history dating back to 1948 when it was originally formed by Captain Peter Cicero of Merillon Engine #2. Over the years, the organization evolved and expanded its membership to include both men and women from each of the companies, reflecting its commitment to inclusivity and community support.

Our Mission

Our mission is to support the fire department and its members both financially and socially while fostering goodwill and service. We strive to enhance the well-being of our community by participating in local events, promoting membership growth, and providing essential support to our volunteer firefighters.

What We Do

The Garden City Park Auxiliary is dedicated to making a positive impact on our community through a variety of activities and initiatives:

Supporting the fire department and its members with financial and social assistance.

Participating in community events, such as marching and serving food at the annual Memorial Day Parade and fundraisers

Working to increase membership for both the auxiliary and the volunteer fire department.

One of the commendable initiatives undertaken by the auxiliary is the creation of a merit volunteer scholarship for junior firefighters. This scholarship recognizes the dedication and service of young volunteers who contribute their time and effort to support the community. By providing financial assistance, the scholarship aims to encourage and reward those who show exceptional commitment to volunteerism and community service. It not only aids in their educational pursuits but also fosters a sense of responsibility and civic duty among the youth.
