On Sunday July 24, members of the Garden City Park Fire Department along with fire departments across Nassau and Suffolk County all joined together in Eisenhower Park to show their support for our Law Enforcement Agencies throughout the nation especially in light of recent tragic events that have occurred. Engine 152 and EMS Gator 1578 was sent to represent the department and to show support. Engine 152 took members Lieutenant Klett, Ex Captain Chambers, Ex Captain Chisea, Firefighter Muneshwar & Firefighter Pfleger. Assistant Chief Flood & Assistant Chief Thomas was present and vital in making the event successful along with the help with various Chiefs of different departments. On Saturday June 11, 2016 at 4:05 AM, the Garden City Park Fire Department was toned out for a motor vehicle with entrapment in front of 257 Marcus Ave. Within minutes, Ambulance 155 was on the road with Captain LaMaida and Captain Thomas on board. Heavy Rescue 1511 responded with Ex Captain Sarracco, Ex Captain Chambers, Captain Sovar, Firefighter Martinez and Firefighter Pfleger. Upon arrival, Ambulance 155 & Heavy Rescue 1511 was met with an overturned vehicle. All patients were self extracted and was treated by the Nassau County EAB division. On June 4 2016, the Garden City Park Fire Department was toned out for a car fire at 1600 Hillside Avenue. Assistant Chief Magas and Assistant Chief Thomas were the first units on the road. Upon Assistant Chief Magas arrival, he was met with a fully involved automobile in the parking lot of Dunkin Donuts. Unit 154 and Heavy Rescue 1511 both arrived on scene. Lt LaMaida & FF DeCrescenzo utilized the front car fire line from Engine 154 and were assisted by Captain Roth, FF Pfleger from Heavy Rescue 1511 and quickly knocked down the fire. On April 19 2016 at 1106 AM, the Garden City Park FD received an alarm for a Bathroom Fire located at 273 Devonshire Drive. Assistant Chief Thomas was the first unit on the road within seconds. Upon arrival, Assistant Chief Thomas met with smoke showing and requested for a Signal 98 to be transmitted. After further investigation, Assistant Chief Thomas requested for the alarm to be upgraded to a signal 10. Engine 154 responded and stretched 1 line to the residence and quickly knocked down the fire with the assistance from the crews from Engine 152. EMS support was provided by AMT Ian Newman from the Nassau County EAB. New Hyde Park FD responded as the FAS Team. Mineola FD and New Hyde Park FD stood by Station 2 to provided services to the residence if another alarm in district was transmitted. Units took up within the hour. Assistant Chief Thomas was in command.

Around 4pm on Wednesday April 13, 2016, the Garden City Park Fire Department was toned out for a signal 9 overturn with entrapment in front of 1950 Hillside Ave. Assistant Chief Thomas went 21 within a minute of the call along with ambulance 155 which consisted of Firefighter Nicholas Loizzo and Captain Jensen Thomas. Ambulance 155 was first on scene and was met with an overturn with the patient self extracting himself from his vehicle. With the patient safely out, 155 advised all units of negative pin and negative entrapment. Heavy Rescue 1511 was soon after on scene securing the scene along with the help of Assistant Chief Thomas. The 2 patients on scene were under the care and treated by 155. All units took up within the hour. Units were under the command of Asst. Chief Sal Thomas.

On Thursday March 17, the Garden City Park FD North Hills Express Engine Company 4 placed in service a 2015 Ferrara Cinder engine. This new apparatus replaced their former 1999 Spartan Gladiator. The new 154 was designed and equipped with modern technology to fit the needs of the ever changing fire district. This engine was placed in service under the direction of Chief Of Department Timothy Nacewicz and Captain Christopher Magas

On Tuesday February 23, the Garden City Park FD Merillon Engine Company 2 placed in service a 2015 Ferrara Cinder engine. This new apparatus replaced their former 1995 RD Murray. The new 152 was designed and equipped with modern technology to fit the needs of the ever changing fire district. On Saturday February 20, 2016 at 2:30 PM, the Garden City Park Fire Department was toned out for a basement fire at 27 Clyde Street. Asst. Chief Magas and Asst. Chief Thomas responded. Firecom gave additional information to the assistant chiefs that they were responding to a working basement fire. Heavy Rescue 1511, and Engine 153 responded. Upon arrival of Asst. Chief Magas (1501) and Asst. Chief Thomas (1503) a signal 98 was transmitted and upon further investigation a signal 10 was transmitted for a working basement fire with extension to the first floor. Heavy rescue 1511 stretched 1 line off their truck and Engine 153 secured a water source for additional lines if needed. Ladder 151 responded and provided additional support. Floral Park FD was toned out as automatic FAS Team and Floral Park 123 responded. Ladder 175 and Mineola Volunteer Ambulance Corp. was on scene as well. Engine 154 responded for manpower support. On February 12, 2016 at 2246 hours, the Garden City Park Fire Department was notified for smoke in an apartment located at 2220 Jericho Turnpike Garden City Park. Chief of Department Nacewicz (1500), Asst. Chief Magas (1501) and Asst. Chief Thomas (1503) were the first units on the road. Upon arrival, Asst. Chief Magas upgraded the alarm to a signal 98 for smoke showing. FAS Team from Floral Park FD was automatically notified. Moments later, Asst. Chief Magas called for a signal 10 for a working basement fire. Engine 153 was the first fire apparatus on the road. On the arrival of 153, the crews stretched one line from the rear of the Engine to the basement. The crew from 153 quickly knocked the fire down with help from the crew of Heavy Rescue, 1511, and Engine 154. Tower Ladder from New Hyde Park FD was on scene as well. The Garden City FD, New Hyde Park FD and Mineola VAC stood by at Station 2 till the completion of the fire. All units were released from scene
